Sage CRM Enterprise Integration Server - EIS

Enterprise Integration Server correctly named CRM Integration Server - EIS - is like a SDK (Software Developers Kit) for Sage CRM and is only required when the client wants or needs advanced customisations such as:

  • Create Custom Pages or Screens
  • Talk to other data bases evoking CRUD capabilities (define CRUD please)
  • Create & manage Custom Entities like e.g. An Invitation Record or Subscription
  • An Integration Server license gives you through your Sage CRM Solution Provider, access to the complete eWare Object/Block model including all properties and methods for each field.

With EIS, integration potential with Sage CRM is unlimited, it depends on what you are trying to get the integration to do.

In the simples sense, to view, or edit information from a foreign database is not difficult provided the format of the foreign database is ODBC and the ODBC driver can be installed on the CRM server.

  • Create the relationship with the foreign table, a simple configuration.
  • Create some SQL views.
  • Create some screens in CRM.
  • Create some ASP pages to call the screens.
  • Add the ASP pages to the tabs you want - easy.

Sage CRM is well equipped to build these kinds of integrations, a basic integration can be achieved in a matter of half a day, with more complex integrations the actual "integration point" is really a triviality compared to the business logic developed behind it. Naturally complex business logic takes a long time to turn in to databases and code. The issues around a complex integration will be the same for anyone facing them. Sage CRM makes the integration point so easy that we can call it a triviality, which is a significant leg up on our competitors. To build the integrations takes us a relatively short time and integrates tightly into our core architecture, allowing reports and screens in CRM that come from or control external databases. That is not nearly so easy with any of our competitors products. We have said many times, the ease of this kind of integration is one of Sage CRM's key winning points relative to our competition.

Our only limitations come with proprietary systems. If there is no custom API and the data base is not ODBC compliant, we cannot integrate.
